The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) hereby invites applicantions from suitably qualified candidates for recruitment into the available positions in the Hospital (U.B.T.H).
University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) is a tertiary health facility which was esterblished in 1973 following the enactment of an edict (number12). As the sixth of the 1st generation Teaching Hospitals in Nigeria, it was established to complement her sister institution, University of Benin, and to provide secondary and tertiary care to the then Midwestern Region (now Edo and Delta State) andits environs.
It also provides necessary facilities for training of high and middle level manpower forthe health industry and spearheads research opportunities for lecturers in the University and other interested persons with local morbidity burden as research question(s).
Through the Community Health Centres in Ogbona and Udo, and the General Practice Clinic that came on stream later, she equally provides some avenues for primary health care to the immediate communities.
At inception its goals were encapsulated in her motto for Healing, Research and Training. Initially commissioned as a 300 bedded hospital in 1973, UBTH which is located on the Benin – Lagos Expressway, has expanded her facilities tremendously over the years such that she now has facilities for over 500 in-patients.
The Hospital is consolidating on a new initiative that is driven by the concept of objective and structured training.
The available positions are as follow:
1. Registrar II (Resident Doctors – MSS II (as obtainable in the Public Service)
Candidates for the post must be fully registered with the Nigerian Medical and Dental Council. In addition, they are expected to produce evidence of completion of the B+NYSC, or exemption from Service. All prospective candidates for Residency Training Programmes must possess a pass in the Primary Fellowship Examination of the relevant professional examination.

Apply for the job position.
Enter Pin Code obtainable from any UBA Plc Branch nationwide for Five Hundred Naira (N500.00). Then open the application form. Complete the form and upload relevant documents. On successful application, print two copies of the application form
Send a copy to the Deputy Director, Human Resources and retain a copy for the interview.
Admission into Child Health and Internal Medicine Departments are rather to the respective subspecialties.
Screening Examination
Part of the interview entails a written screening examination meant to determine candidate's academic and attitudinal disposition to residency training. This is slated Wednesday 29th August, 2012.
Oral interview would be on Friday 31st August, 2012.
